How to Find the Murderer in Flicker
Murderer is not a stealth stealth game. It is a statistics game with a knife. Someone is visiting kill seats. Someone cannot be witched. Someone is a little too eager to end the day. This page is the town-side hunt. If you rolled Evil, read it anyway so you know which tells to stop giving away.
Information you can actually trust
Detective three-name cards contain at least one Evil — not “all three.” Psychic alignment is exact. Spy visit lists are exact if Spy is real. Medic “you were attacked but healed” proves a Murderer swing, not an Assassin swing. Assassin kills ignore Medic. If a protected player still dies, you are looking at Assassin, Clown, or Ambusher, not the leader knife.
Behavioral tells
“I was witched” from someone who then still used an ability is a lie. “I was witched” from Murderer is a bluff you can catch if a different player also reports a block. Pushing a vote on a confirmed Muffin Man is either Clown grief or a killer who wants the confirmed Good gone. Sitting on a perfect Psychic claim with no indent and no night-two line is Dark Psychic homework unfinished.
Endgame math
If two Evil are dead in a 15-stack, one Evil remains unless Ambusher is still hiding. Psychic can hard-claim and demand the last name. If the last three are Good, Evil, Neutral, Evil can still win by sitting still. Do not leave Clown alive as a “maybe later.” The strategy video in the middle of this article is a full-round hunt, not a highlight reel.
Frequently asked questions
Short answers for the searches that follow a bad round.
Does the body location show the killer?
Death scenes are random per map. They prove a kill happened, not who clicked.
Can Spy catch Detective?
Detective does not visit. A “Detective” on a visit list is a liar.
What if two journals match?
One is copied. Ask who wrote first. Check timestamps in your own notes.
Should we hammer the person who found the body?
No. Everyone sees the scene. Finding is not visiting.
